		<description>Thanks for the comment, but it&#039;s not necessarily true that only a lump sum payment would be accepted.  I have heard of some creditors agreeing to a payment plan.  But with a payment plan, they will still charge interest of course, so it is best to make a lump sum payment whenever possible.</description>

		<description>If you have 1000 or 1100 cash, right now, call them and ask if they will settle for that. They will not take payments on a settlement. If they agree to that, ask them to send you a letter saying that your money will be considered payment in full. Once you get that letter, send them the money and be done with it.</description>
